Ceramics Artist in Residence 2024-2025: The Umbrella Arts Center seeks applicants for the Ceramics Artist Residency program. Active ceramic artists and educators looking to join a fully equipped ceramics program with a large and vibrant community are encouraged to apply. Studio Rental Space Available: Announcing the availability of shared space in Studio 302! Rent shared space in a 265 square feet studio with two large North-facing windows. The space is divided into four workstations. There is an existing closet and extra shelving that doubles as dividers for the space. No toxic materials can be used nor any machinery, tools or materials that create dust, odor, noise or vibrations. The price per month will be $113.50 for each workspace.  Lease term is July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025. Those who wish to renew will reapply at the end of the lease as part of an open call. Renewals are not guaranteed. Teaching experience and willingness to teach adult classes a plus. Applications due by Wednesday, May 15 at noon. Concord Cultural District GrantsFreedom’s Silhouette​, a temporary art installation in Monument Square by artist Liz Helfer, will invite visitors to consider the fight for freedom through time in this historic town. The sculpture takes inspiration from the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution in 2025 and the lives of two 19th century Concord residents – Henry David Thoreau and Ellen Garrison who continued this fight for independence through the abolitionist cause. The Town of Concord’s Concord Center Cultural District Taskforce seeks proposals (Deadline May 20, 2024) to activate and illuminate this temporary installation in ways that "extend the conversation about freedom". Writers, poets, musicians, performers, new media creators, filmmakers, actors, educators, and visual artists are encouraged apply for individual awards up to $2,000. For details click here.

Call for Winter Market Artist and Artisan Vendors: The Umbrella’s Winter Market is an annual three-day show and sale of artist, artisan, and hand-crafted work in Concord, MA. This sale includes juried vendors and resident artists and has a dedicated following built over three decades. This year’s Winter Market will take place Friday, December 6 - Sunday, December 8, 2024, on all three floors of The Umbrella's beautifully renovated space.
